THE
AUDIO COLLECTION
12-inch FX-12 subwoofers with dual voice coils, rated at 600 W and 800 W RMS — bass you don’t just hear, you feel.
FLEX AUDIO SUBWOOFERS GUIDE
Both are 12-inch subwoofers with pressed-paper cones, foam surrounds, ferrite magnets and stamped-steel frames. The FX-12 600 D4 is rated at 600 W RMS (1,200 W max) with a 2-inch voice coil and 15 mm Xmax. The FX-12 800 D4 steps up to 800 W RMS (1,600 W max) with a 2.5-inch voice coil.
A D4 subwoofer has two 4-ohm voice coils. Wired in parallel, one subwoofer presents about 2 ohms to the amplifier; wired in series, about 8 ohms. Choose the wiring that matches the load your amplifier is rated for.
Use a mono (single-channel) amplifier whose rated output at your final impedance is close to the subwoofer’s RMS rating. In the FLEX AUDIO lineup, the AB-1000.1D, AB-1600.1D and AP-2000 mono are single-channel amplifiers for bass. Confirm the pairing with the team before ordering.
The FX-12 800 D4 is rated at 800 W RMS and 1,600 W maximum, with a 2.5-inch dual voice coil.
D4 means dual 4-ohm voice coils. One D4 subwoofer can be wired to about 2 ohms (parallel) or 8 ohms (series).
Yes. Each FX-12 product page lists Fs, Qts, Vas, BL, Re, Xmax and SPL for the D2 and D4 versions, which you can use for enclosure design.
